1st day in Vietnam -- 17th December 2008
We didn expect the plane to be small and cramped, but it brought us to vietnam safely.
As we arrived, the airport is rather similar to Singapore's airport, so nothing new yet ! = p
However, as we started to travel in that mini van, we started to see the difference ; the "messy" traffic in vietnam ! =) Whats most obvious? - Singapore is flooded with cars whereas Vietnam is flooded with motorcycles! You may even see bicycles trying to act like motorcycles.
We are checked into the "Hien Anh" hotel. Rather small though, but still acceptable la.
After washing up, we moved on to visit the Vietnam War Museum. The museum has showcases of many pictures of the war. We seen photos of the civilians, soilders, warplane, missile etc..
Well, in the past, Vietnam was splited into North and South, hence there was a war between the Capitalist and Communist. Yup, and the war started in 1960s, ended in 1970s.
That was the time where Yingling really felt that her 2years of history lesson has been put into great use. Her history teacher must be glad to hear this. =)
After the museum, we visited "Notre Dame Cathedral". That is an old church with really cool vintage architecture. You can hardly see these type of churches in Singapore.
Had dinner, went shopping at the market, yea.. daily stuff.. So! ITS SLEEPING TIME. Zzzz..
Goodnight.
We will continue our journey tmr with great energy!!! weee... =D
